Harvested
from a remote, nonindustrial area off the coast of Peru,
the kelp is rinsed with sea water to remove loose sand.
Fresh water rinsing increases the likelihood of bacterial
contamination. Kelp contains naturally occurring sodium,
as well as sodium from sea salt. This kelp source contains
about 7 mg of sodium/tablet. By contrast, a "low
sodium" food is defined as 140 mg sodium/serving.
