HMB is the abbreviation for beta-hydroxy beta-methyl
butyrate. It is a breakdown product of the amino
acid leucine. Research has shown HMB has a role in regulating
protein metabolism and that HMB can help build muscle
and burn fat, but only in response to exercise.
After it is produced in the body, it can take one of
three metabolic pathways:

2) excreted in urine
3) stimulate protein synthesis & to maximize the

lean mass in women on a weight-reduction diet.
