Super
Mineral Complex With Krebs Cycle Carriers (VL#684) is
a great product! But I am often asked "What is
a Krebs Cycle Carrier?" Some of you may be familiar
with this process, but if you're not, here's "Krebs
Cycle 101."
The
Krebs Cycle is also known as the "Citric Acid Cycle"
or Tricarboxylic Acid Cycle." It contains carriers
that are intermediates and keep the process going continually.
As you can see, this complex series of events takes
place in eight steps. Super Mineral Complex includes
calcium, magnesium, and potassium that are complexed
with the sources citrate, malate, fumarate, succinate,
and alpha-ketoglutarate which are "Krebs Cycle
Carriers" also known as carboxylic acids. These
multi-carboxylic acids are able to function as excellent
chelating agents. The calcium and magnesium in this
product are considered to be "chelated." This
is different from an amino acid chelate in that it is
chelated to an organic "acid" instead of an
amino "acid."
The
Krebs cycle is an oxygen-requiring (aerobic) metabolic
process and is the central meeting ground where fat,
carbohydrate, and protein meet for the final breakdown
before being converted into stored energy the body can
use, called ATP (adenosine triphosphate). In other words
it represents the joining of these three macro nutrients
into one common energy producing pathway that is responsible
for extracting energy from food. These reactions take
place inside the mitochondria in every cell in the body.
The mitochondria is considered the "powerhouse"
of every cell because ATP is generated here. The importance
of this cycle, as the center of energy production, is
confirmed by the estimation that over 90% of energy
released from food occurs here. It was discovered by
a German biochemist, Sir Hans Krebs. He was a co-winner
of a Nobel prize in 1953.
By
complexing minerals to Krebs Cycle carriers, Super Mineral
Complex provides readily bioavailable forms of these
minerals as well as carriers which the body recognizes
and knows how to process. The main physical and chemical
features that contribute to the functionality of the
Krebs minerals are: 1) A wide range of solubility characteristics
(ideal for those with stomachs that produce inadequate
hydrochloric acid). Any customer that feels calcium
citrate is the best source for them and is looking for
a multi-mineral product, this product is highly recommended!
2) Relatively small molecular size (amino acid chelates
tend to be larger) 3) Excellent chelating agents. These
mineral complexes are completely utilized in the biological
process. The combination of these properties provides
the enhanced bioavailability.
Other
highly bioavailable sources of this high-tech formula
include: 1) Chromium from both chromium polynicotinate
(ChromeMate) & picolinate. 2) Selenium from selenomethionine.
3) Trace of boron from a natural marine organic base.
4) Zinc from monomethionine (OptiZinc) and zinc histidinate.
The calcium and magnesium ratio is 2:1. The iron content
is moderate at 10 mg per day. Note: This product is
suitable for vegetarians, however, possibly not "vegans"
since food glaze is used for coating the tablet.
How
many tablets does it take to meet the label claim? Six
is the correct answer! I would recommend either taking
3 tablets twice a day or 2 tablets three times per day.
Either way a person will increase the amount absorbed
and utilized compared to a "one-a-day" multiple
mineral.
Super
Mineral Complex provides the latest technology in mineral
delivery for optimum absorption and utilization. Each
mineral is provided as a unique blend of bioactive sources
such a Krebs Cycle Carriers (including non-amino acid
chelating agents), ascorbates, glycinates and other
superior organic mineral carriers. Minerals can irritate
the gut, therefore it is always recommended to take
with food. However, because these are fully reacted
minerals, they should be less irritating, especially
for those with sensitive stomachs.
